ANALYSIS: Deceleration Defines 2019 State of the Unions

For unions, 2019 was not an especially momentous year, statistically speaking. But since it happens to be the final “-teen” year of the 21st century, it offers a once-in-a-decade opportunity to compare labor trends in the 2010s to those in the 2000s and before. Surprisingly, unions fared comparatively better over the course of this decade than they did in preceding ones. Or, at least, not as badly.
