Bankrupt Murray Energy to Leave Suit Against Accusers’ Firm

Murray Energy Corp. and two subsidiaries may exit a suit they brought with their former CEO, Robert E. Murray, alleging a law firm breached a confidentiality agreement in its representation of women who alleged they were sexually harassed while working for the company, a federal court in Ohio ruled.

The companies entered bankruptcy and said they needed to consider other demands on their capital, according to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Their dismissal won’t have a preclusive effect on Robert Murray’s claims, Judge Edmund A. Sargus said for the court Wednesday.
