Volcker Rule, Swaps Margin Changes Set for FDIC Votes Next Week

Two of the major rules for Wall Street banks are poised for approval next week as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. sets June 25 votes on changes to Volcker Rule trading limits and swaps margin demands, agency says in Thursday statement.

• The proposed Volcker changes ease constraints on banks’ interactions with investment funds, while the margin rule would remove requirement for posting margin between a bank’s affiliates
• The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency -- whose chief votes as a member of the FDIC board -- and Federal Reserve must also approve the swaps margin change
