RD Legal Funding, a company that allegedly scammed Sept. 11 victim families and former NFL players in a concussion settlement, agreed to settle claims brought by the CFPB and the New York attorney general’s office.
Under the proposed settlement, RD Legal agreed to pay $1 to the CFPB’s victims relief fund and refrain from collecting more than $600,000 of debt from affected consumers who participated in the James Zadroga 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund.
The Zadroga fund is a Congress-established program to compensate people who were diagnosed with cancer after the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. It ...
