Tyson’s $4.6 Million Turkey Wholesaler Settlement Gets Early Nod

The turkey wholesalers leading part of a proposed class action over an alleged industrywide price-fixing scheme won preliminary approval from a federal judge in Chicago for a $4.6 million settlement resolving “direct purchaser” claims against Tyson Foods Inc.

Judge Virginia M. Kendall gave her tentative blessing to the agreement, one of two “icebreaker” deals with Tyson disclosed in the past week by the turkey buyers pressing antitrust claims against top poultry processors in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
